IELTS

Jointly owned by IDP IELTS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, the IELTS exam in India is solely conducted by IDP IELTS.

IELTS test can be written either by

CBT (Computer Based Test)
Paper based (use pencil/pen and paper)

Academic and General

There are four modules:-

Reading - 60 minutes
Listening - 40 minutes
Writing - 60 minutes
Speaking - 15 minutes

1. Reading

3 Long passages
40 questions
60 mins (20 mins each passage)

2. Listening

4 section audios
40 questions
30 mins (extra 10 mins for transferring answers to answer sheet)

3. Writing

Task 1 - 20 mins
Task 2 - 40 min

4. Speaking is divided into 3 parts (15 min)

So total Ielts test is - 2hours 45 minutes.
